Kate Schramm is Vice President of Government Affairs at Oscar Policy Group. Prior to joining the Oscar Policy Group, Kate earned 15 years of government experience in both Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. in both chambers of Congress and in the State Executive Branch. This experience has fostered a do what needs to be done attitude that is critical to navigating the complexities of the government.
Kate began her career in the Philadelphia office of U.S. Senator Arlen Specter as deputy director and caseworker serving constituents and troubleshooting bureaucratic red tape with the federal agencies. She was quickly promoted to oversee the Senator’s entire organization in Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania as Administrative Director. Following the Senator’s retirement, Kate moved to the House of Representatives, assisting in the opening of the office freshman Congressman Joe Walsh and managing the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Following her time on the hill, Kate moved to the personal staff of Governor Tom Corbett. This opportunity gave a first-hand look at policy making from the executive level in the state. She returned to federal work and the U.S. Senate serving as U.S. Senator Pat Toomey’s Philadelphia regional manager. She continued to work closely with legislative staff to navigate the issues important to Pennsylvania and specifically the Philadelphia area. Kate served Senator Toomey through his retirement from the Senate.
Kate has additional experience working for Rep. Pat Meehan as district director and has assisted the groundwork on multiple political campaigns. On the local level, Kate is a former member of the Delaware County (PA) Women’s Commission and is a current member of her local township’s planning commission.
Kate received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from Villanova University.
